Main Event Hub
Located in East Gippsland on the 2nd weekend of July every year is the Twin River’s Business and Tourism Association Bream Classic.
For 20 years, 600-1000 anglers make their way to the tiny townships of Nicholson, Swan Reach and Johnsonville to compete in the Bream Classic. 2017 marks the 21st Birthday of the event and for the first time a lure category and several children’s categories have been added.
Why do the anglers keep coming? The Tambo, Nicholson and Mitchell Rivers have some prime fishing spots, many hidden and kept secret by locals. When offered the chance to compete against others while exploring the East Gippsland waterways to win some incredible prizes – who would say no?
The Bream Classic promotes catch and release fishing, with all categories containing a catch and release component.
All entries into the 2017 Twin Rivers Bream Classic go into our Major Prize Draw that is drawn on Sunday at Johnsonville Boat Ramp after the weigh-in.
We have some fantastic prizes up for grabs and with an estimated turnout of around 1000 entrants …pretty good odds at winning!
